Townsville is the largest city in Tropical Australia, with Beautiful Magnetic Island on her doorstep, Cairns and the tableland with the exciting rainforests to the North, historical Ravenswood and Charters Towers to the West.
Townsville is seen as the unofficial capital of North Queensland and enjoys more than 300 days of sunshine a year. About 143.000 people call Townsville home, she is also home to the footy team "The Cowboys" and a variety of other sports clubs.
Beautiful walks along Ross River and the strand. Plenty of places to take the kids, like the water park on the strand and swimming in the Riverway pools, or visit the museum of Tropical Queensland, or Reef H.Q. a large tropical aquarium, or Billabong Sanctuary just South of the city.
